COVID Update: We have reopened and are practicing enhanced client safety measures!
Microblading is an advanced form of tattooing during which micro incisions are manually made in the form of strokes to appear as natural eyebrow hairs. Microblading is performed with a hand held device that has tiny, grouped, sharp pin needles, which form a blade. This tool is used in precise strokes to introduce pigment into the skin, and when used correctly by a skilled stylist, gives clients a beautiful full set of brows. It's an extremely meticulous process that takes around two to three hours to complete, depending on the candidate. Since the results will last for up to two years before fading (12-18 month retouch recommended) it's good to know that the stylist pays so much attention to detail.
After discussing the process and understanding the client's desires, the artist meticulously designs the desired brow shape using a removable pencil. Various tool are used in this process to ensure perfect shape, position, and symmetry.
After you are completely satisfied with the drawn design, a numbing cream is applied and allowed to work for 30 minutes. During this time, the stylist will determine pigment color for your skin color and type. She will also discuss aftercare and explain the next steps.
During the microblading process the stylist will use the special microblading pen to draw on individual strokes one by one, to resemble individual hairs. After completing each side, numbing cream will be reapplied to prepare for the final application. Then the stylist will revisit each side, filling in and perfecting each brow.
To achieve the full effect of the treatment, the customer will return in 4-6 weeks to have a re-touch done. The initial application can fade significantly in the first weeks, and this visit is critical to achieving beautiful, lasting results. Clients who wait more than 12 weeks to book a follow up may be charged a higher retouch price or a full initial session price due to the amount of extra work required.
